About Decoding Spirit

The wisdom is timeless. The reading should be too.

These texts have outlasted every empire that tried to own them. Not because they are old — because they keep being right about how to live.

धर्म

When the right path isn't obvious

The Gita opens with a man frozen between two duties, both of them real. That is the question it actually answers — not how to be holy, but how to act when every choice costs something.

कर्म

Do the work, release the result

The most quoted line in the text is also the most misread. It is not fatalism. It is a discipline for staying steady — giving your whole effort while loosening your grip on the outcome.

भक्ति

Wisdom you can carry, not just admire

We translate the weight of these texts, not only their words — so a chapter written for a battlefield three thousand years ago still lands in a Tuesday meeting, or a hard conversation at home.

Who’s behind it

Nikhil Jaitly

Founder, Decoding Spirit

Nikhil writes to make the wisdom of India's oldest texts usable in an ordinary modern life. Under the Decoding Spirit imprint, his books take works that can feel distant or ceremonial — the Bhagavad Gita, the Durga Saptashati, the wisdom of Hanuman, among his notable writings — and render them as plain, practical guidance a busy reader can actually live by. He writes for two kinds of reader: the professional looking for steadiness and clarity under pressure, and the parent who wants to raise children on the courage and character of these timeless heroes. Based in Melbourne, he sits between two worlds — a working life in technology and AI and a lifelong study of scripture — and his writing is the bridge between them.
